We are at the Lower Level of the Hillgate Shopping Centre, 36-38 Old Main Road, Hillcrest, Kwazulu Natal.
We have approximately 1000m2 of warehouse and storage space. 24 Hour guard with radio linked to Mobile Armed Response.

Computer System
Using a comprehensive database operating on Microsoft access, we are able to produce a unique goods number for all loose assets, thereby ensuring absolute accuracy when invoicing and stocktaking.
Venue Roll
Thunder Auctioneers utilises a program designed exclusively for this company. All the goods, carry a unique (unrepeated) Goods Number which allows for complete transparency and accurate vendue rolls.
The system is backed up to the cloud every day and we make use of an uninterrupted power supply, thereby eliminating possible errors in the event of power failures.
Auction Format
Auctions are held every Thursday starting (outside in the passage) with the outdoor, garden, hardware & camping section. Moving on into the main shop, where the smalls, kitchenware, clothing, linen etc will be done. Following on with the furniture, appliances etc.
All goods are sold, AS IS, Voetstoets, not working
Specialised goods and vehicles can be put up for sale, STC “Subject to Confirmation” so that the Seller & the Auctioneer may consider the offer before accepting them. This would be discussed before the Auction, with `Reserve Prices` being set on the relevant goods.
Disbursements
Upliftment is at a charge on all household goods, machinery and plant, depending on the amount of trips & the area the goods are being uplifted from.
Buyers & Sellers commission will be charged on all successful sales of all loose assets including Household Goods, Antiques, machinery, Vehicles etc.
Fixed property will be charged at Estate Agent commission rates. Advertising costs will be borne by the Seller. To this end an Advertising Schedule will be presented to the Seller by the Auctioneer for their approval.
All payments are made on a CASH or Bank transfer basis only.
Conditions of Auction Sales.
- The highest accepted bidder shall be the Purchaser.
- The Auctioneer has the right to regulate the bidding.
- The Auctioneer may furthermore withdraw any item at any time, without notice.
- The Auctioneer does not hold himself responsible for any errors of deception.
- ALL GOODS ARE SOLD AS IS, WITH NO DUTY TO REPAIR. ALL GOODS ARE SOLD WITH NO GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY WHATSOEVER. A bid shall be taken as proof that the bidder has made himself/herself acquainted with the lots for which he/she bids.
- Lots once knocked down remain at the risk of the Purchaser.
- Should any dispute arise between two or more bidders, the Auctioneer has the right to either re-auction the disputed lot or cancel the sale & put the lot up on the next auction.
- All bids are exclusive of Buyers Commission or VAT.
- All sales are final and Voetstoots.
- The Purchaser shall not be entitled to possession of any of his purchases until the total price of all his purchase has been fully paid for in cash or bank transfer.
- In the event of the purchaser failing to pay the full purchase price of any lot within the prescribed time or fails to comply with any other terms of sale. The Auctioneer retains a possessory lien on all lots of the Purchaser and have the right to resell such lots for and behalf of the Purchaser by public auction or private sale without notice of any kind to the Purchaser. Should the Auctioneer resell any lot, the proceeds therefrom, (after deducting commission and any costs) shall be credited to the original Sellers account and the original Purchaser shall forthwith upon demand, pay to the Auctioneer, as damages any deficiency arising from the resale.
- The Purchaser shall be bound by all announcements made by the Auctioneer at the commencement of and during the sale even if he/she is present or not at the time of making such announcements.
- PAYMENT TERMS: Bank transfer or cash by the close of business on the day of sale. NO EXCEPTIONS
- Bidders participating in any online auction must be aware that the auctioneer cannot accommodate for slow or lost internet connections or the variable delay between bids placed online. The highest bid recorded on the online system at the end of the auction will be “accepted” as the final bid. It is up to the “bidder” to make sure that their bid is recorded into the online system. The auctioneer cannot guarantee up-time on the system. Please Note! If you are bidding from a foreign country, please ensure that the TIME on your device is set to GMT +2.

Valuation for Sale by Auction
We are open Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm, for assets to be brought in for free verbal valuations without obligation. It would be advised to phone before. For items too large to transport, complete house or business contents, we would be pleased to visit you at home or business. We can, where possible, give valuations from photograph by e-mail.
Deceased Estate, Liquidation, Family Division or other Legal Valuations
We aim to provide a fast and efficient service for executors. A formal detailed inventory and valuation is prepared, naming all items of significant value. In the event of executors wishing to dispose of some or all the effects involved in an estate, we provide a complete sales service. Collection of the items is arranged and catalogued for inclusion in the appropriate sale or sales.
House Clearance
We are pleased to offer a complete house clearance service where required. We can provide a valuation for a complete household.
Insurance Valuations
Lately we have found many households are under-insured or not even insured with regards to the Antiques, Collectables and Art. A detailed inventory and valuation are provided of the more significant pieces. This can include photographs if required. There is a charge for all formal valuations, be they legal or inquisitive, however, the fee may be waived when items are consigned for auction.
